PADI Open Water Diver Course

Your journey starts here! An Open Water license will let you dive into the ocean and go on different Specialty Dives from PADI, including Underwater Photography, Fish Identification and more.

About the Course

PADI® Open Water Diver is the first scuba certification level. Globally recognised, this beginner course is the gateway to countless diving adventures around the world. In this course, you will learn how to be a skilled and confident diver, assemble and use scuba gear, manage your buoyancy and handle common diving problems.

At the end of this course, you will get a PADI Open Water Diver Certification to allow you to dive at home or abroad.

Course Journey

Step 1: Theory Session

To start this course, you must enrol and complete the PADI eLearning module. The module will help you learn the background information you need to dive safely and learn about scuba diving principles and terminology. Odydive Center can organise an in-person class. Multiple learning options are also available to suit your busy schedule.

 

 

  • Time to complete: 5-10 hours (max. 2x).

Step 2: Pool / Confined Water Session

The next step is to practice using scuba gear with an instructor in a pool or confined environment. Odydive has a private pool facility to facilitate your learning. PADI training includes practice “mini dives” to help you build confidence in your new abilities before making four dives in open water.

 

 

  • Time to complete: 1-2 days (there will be additional charge for additional session).

Step 3: Open Water Session

The last step is where you are required to go to the island that meets the requirements for Open Water dive and do Open Water dives (4x).

 

 

  • Time to complete: 2D / 1N.

Odydive will arrange island schedule with a minimum requirement of 4 students following the pool sessions.

This course expires after 3 months.

Scuba Diving requires the participant to be in good physical health. If you have a chronic health condition, we may ask for a doctor’s note to allow you to start your training. Please contact Odydive centre for more information.

You will need to complete 4x Open Water dives before getting your certification. With an Open Water certification you can dive independently, at most diving sites. View PADI’s Advanced Open Water Diver options and get inspiration for your next diving journey!
